2020 Volvo S90 R-Design Review
2020 Volvo S90 R-Design Review - "Sporty" trim levels that do not include any type of major performance-enhancing equipment rarely obtain our hearts pumping, yet gosh darn it if Volvo's brand-new R-Design trim plan for the S90 and V90 doesn't look smashing. Certainly, it assists when you start with sedans and also wagons as appealing as Volvo's brand-new 90-series vary.
As on the Volvo XC90, the R-Design package mostly contains visual tweaks like five-spoke wheels with matte-black accents, a revised front end with a different grille treatment and also a lower front spoiler, and also some added bits of black trim. Interior distinctions include silver "deco" trim, sport seats, and also an R-Design steering wheel. It's a nice upgrade that provides the already clean styles of the S90 and also V90 an extra sports look.

Volvo also states that the R-Design designs include a "sporting activity chassis," which suggests stiffer springtimes and also dampers and also a somewhat reduced flight elevation (an air suspension is optional also). R-Design models do not include any powertrain tweaks, but we're willing to bet that S90 and also V90 buyers at some point will be able to incorporate the R-Design bundle with these models' "Polestar Optimization" choice. That plan uses a power upgrade for the T6 turbo- and also supercharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, along with revised transmission and throttle tuning for better responsiveness.

We have not yet listened to U.S.-spec information on R-Design schedule, yet expect this model to be amongst the S90's trim levels when it takes place sale later this summertime. The V90 wagon, our choice of the two autos, will certainly comply with the car by a few months on our coasts, arriving at some point in very early 2018.
